We hear a lot about hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, in the news, but do you really understand what it is? Depending on the author of the article, it is either the answer to all of our energy worries or an environmental disaster waiting to happen.
The Institute of Water are holding an evening seminar on 7 October to explain the principles of fracking, how the Environment Agency assesses and issues any permits and the practical issues associated with delivering a fracking scheme. By the end of the seminar, you should have the facts to make your own informed opinion about fracking.
Envireau Water are pleased to be included in the speaker line up:
Mark Morton – Senior Hydrogeologist, Yorkshire Water
Ben Hocking – Yorkshire Area Oil and Gas Programme Manager, Environment Agency
James Dodds – Director and Water Management Specialist, Envireau Water
Dr Phil Ham – Projects Director and Principle Hydrogeologist, Envireau Water
