Case Study: The Successful Design, Project Management and Development of a New Borehole
| Project: | New Water Supply Borehole |
| Sector: | Food Processing |
| Location: | Lincolnshire |
|
As a result, we successfully designed and project managed the development of the new borehole. This has not only resolved the water quality problems but is also capable of delivering the total water requirements at the factory in a much more efficient manner. The project required a high level of technical input due to the complex hydrogeological characteristics of the groundwater resource. The success of this project resulted in a significant reduction in water abstraction and pumping costs as well as a reduction in factory running costs. The project also delivered better management of the groundwater resource, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint. The improved understanding of the groundwater resource capability and quality has helped our client to manage this valuable resource and reduce operational and maintenance costs in the long term. |

Envireau Water carried out initial investigations which confirmed that the problems with water quality
were arising from borehole construction issues. In this case, the only option was to design and develop
a new borehole at the site.
