Envireau Water is pleased to congratulate Llys Dulas Estate on Anglesey on successfully obtaining planning permission for their new amenity lake facilities on Tuesday of this week. A scheme comprising 6 lakes to enhance the tourism offering on Anglesey with sailing, fishing and canoeing, and with affiliated teaching rooms and boat storage as well as a café, will bring great benefits to the island.

Envireau Water together with our All Reservoirs Panel Engineer have provided support to the proposed development since 2014 and have undertaken water related assessments with respect to the lakes, including water resource availability assessment, preliminary design and site investigation, dam break risk assessment and breach analysis, as well as liaison and negotiation with the planning authority. This is the first Reservoirs Act impoundment on the island for quite some considerable time, and rightly so, the planning authority were duty bound to ensure that the proposed development was safe.

Estate Manager Paul Roberts said “Thank you so much for yesterday and all the work leading up to committee, great result.”

Envireau Water regularly work on regulated and unregulated impoundments. Remember that the regulations in Wales and England are now significantly different with respect risk assessment thresholds.
