The UK Irrigation Association has informed us that a new round of capital grants opened on the 31st July, including water resource management grants to improve farm productivity through more efficient use of water for irrigation, and to secure water supplies for crop irrigation by the construction of on-farm reservoirs.
The grants are part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Countryside Productivity scheme which provides funding for projects in England which improve productivity in the farming and forestry sectors. Arable and horticultural businesses can apply for water resource management grants which can cover up to 40% of the eligible cost of a project. The minimum grant is £35,000.
