Our September Who’s In My Back Yard (WIMBY) networking session was a great success. This was our fifth WIMBY networking event, bringing together early careers professionals at our Head Office, in Draycott, Derbyshire. The sessions are informal and relaxed, and we provide drinks and some cheese. The cheeseboard has become a tradition at the WIMBY events, and is always a good conversation starter.

Our friendly team of Hydrologists and Hydrogeologists were thrilled to welcome back familiar faces and introduce new ones to our growing young professionals community. It’s an invaluable opportunity to begin building a network of contacts working in complementary industries. Our team thoroughly enjoys hosting the sessions and it’s fantastic to have such a variety of companies in attendance.

Jamie from the Envireau Water team:

“The WIMBY was a great event that allowed me to connect with like-minded young professionals working in similar sectors nearby. WIMBY targets quite a unique group of people, who will all be useful contacts. I’m looking forward to the next event!”

At our most recent event, we were joined by representatives from like-minded organisations including; Ivy House, The Coal Authority, Ivy House, Wheeldon Homes, Saint Gobain and RPS.

Thomas Mawdsley from RPS:
“The networking session was a really good chance to hear from a wide variety of professionals, working in fascinating areas which you may not encounter in your own work. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed, and the event was very well organised with a generous spread of food/drink. I look forward to attending again in the future.”

Our WIMBY networking events are now a permanent addition to our Envireau Water calendar and have created a buzz in and around Derby, Nottingham and Loughborough. If you’d like to know about our future events, drop rosie@envireauwater.co.uk an email.
