Here at Envireau Water, we pride ourselves in offering opportunities for people to gain experience in our area of expertise. Ben Print, a recent Geological Sciences graduate of the University of Leeds spent the summer with our team to gain an insight into water management and regulation before he starts his MSc in Hydrogeology this September. Here, he tells us about his experience with our team:

“This summer I have been based in Envireau Water’s Head Office in Draycott, Derbyshire assisting the team of hydrologists, hydrogeologists and other earth science specialists to implement projects at the various stages of consultancy, from initial prognoses, through to data analysis and report writing. I have been involved in projects across a variety of sectors, predominately focusing on the quarrying sector.

One of the best aspects of my experience with Envireau Water was the opportunity to get involved in a variety of fieldwork visits, during which I typically helped with water quality measuring and borehole level data collection.

Envireau Water also puts an emphasis on networking, and I have enjoyed attending various events during my internship, namely the ‘Who’s in my Backyard’ young professionals networking event held at the head office.

Through my internship and subsequent exposure to the hydrogeological industry, I have gained valuable skills which will help me greatly with regards to my forthcoming Hydrogeology MSc at the University of Birmingham.

I would like to thank the great staff at Envireau Water for a memorable three months, and wish them all the best for the future!”

We sent Ben off in true Envireau Water style, with a team curry night, and presented him with his very own blue Envireau Water jacket to remember us by. It has been an absolute pleasure having Ben as part of our team for the summer and we wish him all the best with his studies and future endeavours.
