Our team had a fantastic evening at the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) Great Northern Section Annual Banquet with Joseph Holt Ltd and Black Sheep Brewery.
The IBD is the world’s leading professional body for people working in brewing and distilling. As an international professional and educational body the IBD promotes the advancement of the education and professional development in the science and technology of brewing, distilling, and related industries.
The Great Northern Section Annual Banquet was held at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds and was a highly enjoyable evening discussing the latest industry developments and celebrating those who had been successful in completing the IBD examinations. Our team thoroughly enjoyed hearing from Ruth Bromley, Heineken about her career path through the industry.
Alan Dunn, past Chair of the IBD Great Northern Section and Former Head Brewer of Black Sheep Brewery, will be speaking in the Private Water Supplies (PWS) workshop at the 2018 Borehole Users Conference. He will be discussing whether breweries are subject to the PWS regulations and if so, why? Alan will talk us through the brewing cycle and how raw water is modified by the brewing process. This will reveal the important chemical and microbiological constituents that Environmental Health Officers should be monitoring in raw water from a human health perspective. The conference is taking place on the 8th November at Loughborough University. Find out more and book your place here.
