100 years ago today, The Geological Society elected their first eight female Fellows.

We’re thrilled that as part of the celebrations, our Senior Hydrogeologist, Deborah Thomas, was asked to share her career profile on The Geological Society Career Pathways website to promote women in geoscience and inspire the future generation of geoscientists. Access Deborah’s career profile here.

Also as part of the celebrations, The Geological Society ran a competition to design a front cover for their monthly magazine, Geoscientist. Our Technical Administrator, Lauren Moore, is very creatively talented and submitted an entry which came a close runner up! Lauren’s illustration depicts the diversity of women in geology throughout time, and highlights the support that networks of female geoscientists have given each other. View here poster here.
