Based in Envireau Water’s head office in the East Midlands, Michael has over 6 years’ technical experience in the surface water and flood risk management industry. He utilises his skills and experience in surface water hydrology, fluvial geomorphology, flood risk management and GIS on a variety of projects. Since joining Envireau Water in 2014, Michael has worked principally in the built environment, quarrying and agricultural sectors. Michael also supports the management and development of Envireau Water’s environmental data monitoring portal which hosts a wealth of clients across the UK.
Michael is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Management (CIWEM), on the committee for the CIWEM East Midlands Branch, and is currently working towards chartered status. He holds a First Class BSc (Hons) in Physical Geography from the University of Hull and an MSc (with Distinction) in River Environments and their Management from the University of Birmingham. Prior to joining Envireau Water, Michael worked for a multidisciplinary consultancy where he undertook projects in the UK; including work on national scale surface water flood modelling and mapping for the Environment Agency and wider overseas flood risk modelling for parts of Europe and Asia.
