Envireau Water’s Managing Director, James Dodds, is back in the office after a gruelling 3 week Public Inquiry in Norwich.
The Inquiry was in relation to an appeal against the refusal of an abstraction licence. Abstraction licensing appeals are rare, and Public Inquiries in relation to these appeals are almost unheard of. James was the final expert witness and faced over five hours delivering evidence, being cross examined not by one, but two Queen’s Counsels.
This followed James’ appearance in the Bristol High Court as the expert witness in a tenant/landlord case involving claims in excess of £1,000,000.
It is uncommon for water management cases get to Court or Public Inquiries as issues are usually resolved before it reaches that stage. James’ involvement in these cases, therefore makes him one of the most experienced independent water resources specialist expert witnesses in the country.
On his return to the office James said “It’s great to be back and to be able to focus on the day to day job again….But what on earth has happened to the office?” More on that later …
