The day began with a Health & Safety briefing which generated a lot of debate about the risks of lone working, particularly in remote locations. As staff safety is paramount a robust solution to this needs to be found.
After a short business update from James Dodds, our guest speaker, former Leicester Tigers player, Steve Hackney talked to the team about ‘Creating Profitable Team Relationships’. We learnt about Moments of Trust and WOW moments and discussed how this could be transferred into our working day.
The weather refused to play ball, so the excellent BBQ lunch was an indoor affair and then it was all hands to the pump to welcome our guests to the Draycott office. There was plenty for our guests to do with a poster competition, bake off, raffle, Crazy Pong, a steady stream of delicious cakes and of course chat with old and new acquaintances and friends.
Anna Hetherington was a clear winner in the poster competition, voted for by the guests, with a fascinating comparison between bottled, spring and mineral waters, with some fun facts thrown in too. The water themed bake off was closely contested with Alison Hart’s rubber ducky cupcakes taking the first prize.
The raffle, in aid of Calvert Trust Exmoor, raised over £200 which will be matched by us. We’d like to thank all our clients who were so generous in donating such great prizes.
