Welcome to Shrewsbury!

May 28, 2025

We officially unveiled our newest office location in April last year! Known as a hub of Hydrogeology, our Shrewsbury office sits in the heart of the town and is a testament to our growth and a strategic move to better serve our clients in the West Midlands and Wales.

We're excited to introduce you to our skilled experts!

Tamsin Morey: Having joined in 2003, Principal Water Resources Specialist Tamsin has over 20 years consulting experience, with her role focusing primarily on water resource management and high level regulator negotiation. Tamsin manages projects primarily within the agricultural and food & drink industries, with expertise ranging from catchment-scale water resource assessments to the delivery of detailed site-specific solutions to solve specific client issues.

Andrew Tait: Andy joined our newest office in June 2024 as a Principal Hydrogeologist, with over 22 years of consultancy experience. Andy heads our Shrewsbury office, overseeing and managing projects mainly in the minerals and quarrying industries while also overseeing our construction dewatering services.

Juan Rivera: Juan initially joined the Midlands Office in October 2023 as a Senior Hydrogeologist before joining our Shrewsbury Office. At Envireau Water, Juan is heavily involved in mineral and water resources projects and also provides in-depth technical support for the construction sector, including water licensing, permitting and planning, as well as mitigating risks of water-related activities through regulatory exemptions.

Richard Holtham: Richard joined our Shrewsbury Office in May 2024 as a Senior Hydrogeologist, following six years prior technical experience working at Stantec. At Envireau Water, much of Richard's work is focused on the mineral sector, and he also works on landfill assessments, abstraction licensing, discharge permitting and surface water discharge modelling.

Thomas Handley:   Tom joined our Shrewsbury Office in January 2025 as an Environmental Technician. Tom supports the many fieldwork activities across the company, including the installation and monitoring of a variety of software and logging equipment and provides support across a range of sectors, especially within the quarrying and drinks industries, focusing on water quantity and quality.

Desertification and drought are two of the most pressing environmental challenges of the 21st century. Exacerbated by climate change, the devastating effects of both can be felt across the globe, with an estimated 40% of the world's population impacted by water scarcity events. As global temperatures continue to rise, and severe weather events increase, regions across the globe face the potential for increased frequency and severity of droughts, often progressing rapidly and unexpectedly. As of 29th May this year, a drought was officially declared in parts of the UK, having experienced the driest start to Spring in over 130 years. Whilst the recent rainfall at the start of June has helped to stabilise concerns, uncertainty for the months ahead still remain. How is the UK landscape affected by drought?
