Celebrating Accomplishments Across the Team

August 18, 2023

While our team has been busy at work over the summer, it’s also been a month of achievements here at Envireau Water!

We’re proud to share that we’re saying cheers to two newly Chartered Professionals within the team! Achieving chartership not only demonstrates their technical competence but also a commitment and desire to continue learning and maintain positions at the forefront of industry knowledge.

Firstly, we proudly congratulate Rebecca Thirkell, a Senior Hydrologist, on her remarkable achievement of receiving chartership from CIWEM as a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager! This prestigious recognition is a testament to Rebecca's years of hard work, her unique modelling capabilities and her commitment to remaining at the top of her field in hydrology.

Likewise, we applaud Lauren Moore, our accomplished Operations Manager, who has achieved the distinguished Chartered Fellow status from CMI. Lauren's steadfast commitment, strategic foresight, and entrepreneurial prowess have significantly elevated Envireau Water's operations throughout her 5-year tenure.

In other news, Alastair Rose, a Senior Geologist here at Envireau Water, celebrated 15 years with the business recently. Alastair joined the team in 2008 and has played a key role in the growth and development of the business over the years. He has a wealth of experience in site investigation and engineering geology and is primarily in charge of the design and delivery of field work activities at Envireau Water to support projects across a wide range of sectors.

We’ve also been celebrating as Mairi looks to complete her first 12 months as part of the Envireau Team. Since joining our Midlands Office last year, Mairi has been involved in a broad range of projects, attended conferences, and represented the company at career events! We asked Mairi to reflect on her journey with us so far and you can find out more in our recent blog post.

As a company, we pride ourselves in supporting our team’s continued development; nothing makes us smile more than their success! Are you interested to see how working at Envireau Water could enhance your career? Take a look at our careers page to find out more.

As much as we all love the sunshine and have been embracing the recent warmer weather spell across the UK, the prolonged dry conditions are now raising concerns that England may be at risk of a potential drought this summer. Following an exceptionally sunny and dry April, which experienced just over 56% of usual rainfall, the start of May was also the warmest on record, surpassing the previous high set in 1990. With water resources already strained, it is more important than ever that proactive measures are promptly adopted to mitigate this risk, promote water conservation and avoid the potential for future restrictions. We asked Principal Water Resources Specialist, Tamsin Morey , for her thoughts on the matter... Tamsin, what dangers are we already seeing in the UK?
