Tackling the Looming Drought
Leading on from, James Dodds’ article last week on ‘How to Manage Drought’, you may think the change of weather will lessen the impact of the very dry conditions we have experienced over the last two months. Nevertheless, river flows across the country remain particularly low and in some places, groundwater levels are falling at an alarming rate with aquifers reliant on more than a few days of rain to sufficiently recharge and banish the looming drought.
So, what’s the message?
Licensing is more important than ever. In simple terms, acting early and making sure you are prepared will result in continued, uninterrupted abstraction and a successful harvest.
